Chosen area of specialism: VFX/CGI

I am very interested in special effects and composting  because it allows me to work in a broad area of animation and film making. Even though After Effect is mainly used for special effects, MAYA, Photoshop, Illustrator and many other programs can also be used to apply special effects. over all this area of specialism will allow me to explore many programs and I can also work in almost any animation styles/types as well as in live action.

 

Currently my skill is very basic. I need to learn in details how to use After Effects well. free YouTube tutorials, Lynda.com, Bower.org and some workshops at Uni will be where I will improve my skill.  I also need to do a lot of research on VFX industries so I have a clear understanding of the job roles and to also get some inspiration, learn from other people's experience.. and more.

 

At the moment I cant think of any idea on what I will be doing/ making for my third year project. This is due to the skill I have. Through improving my skill process I will be able to know what I can achieve and I probably will find an inspiration during the coming semister as I will be doing a lot of research.
